ONYX Midwest Presents: BLACKOUT 30 – Homecoming

ONYX is a national organization founded in 1995 by and for men of color who enjoy the leather lifestyle, aiming to provide education, support, and a bridge to the broader leather community. The Midwest Chapter, known as ONYX Midwest, is centered in Chicago and also includes cities like St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Des Moines. This chapter focuses on creating safe spaces for men of color to explore kink and fetish play, emphasizing support, spirituality, safety, and sanity.
In October 2025, ONYX Midwest is hosting BLACKOUT 30 – HOMECOMING, celebrating the organization’s 30th anniversary. BLACKOUT is ONYX’s biannual leather run, bringing together members, friends, allies, and supporters for a weekend of fellowship, education, and celebration. The event is scheduled for October 16–20, 2025, in Chicago. Attendees are encouraged to arrive on Thursday, October 16, and stay through Monday, October 20, to fully experience the event and the city.
BLACKOUT 30 is open to everyone, regardless of race, gender expression, sexuality, age, or other demographics. The event aims to create an inclusive, sex-positive space free from discrimination, where participants can engage in educational sessions, social events, and explore their sexuality in a nurturing environment. Traditional events during BLACKOUT include ONYX University, Brotherhood Awards/Recognition Dinner, Annual General Meeting for Full Brothers, and the infamous Bar Crawl.
